The pervasive influence of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) negatively affected the quality of life, taking a toll on both the physical and mental health of those afflicted. To ascertain the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of COVID-19 patients, a cross-sectional study was conducted. From June to November 2020, we carried out this study at the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) in Bangladesh. The sampling frame consisted of all COVID-19 patients diagnosed by the real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method in the month of July 2020. 1204 COVID-19 patients, who were adults over the age of 18 and had a one-month illness duration following a positive RT-PCR test, were part of this study. Interviews with the CDC HRQOL-14 questionnaire were conducted with the patients to determine their health-related quality of life.
